The etsy community has pretty high standards for product photos (as opposed to eBay, which only requires that photos be more or less in focus.) Working on etsy has gotten me thinking more about how to present an object: should the background be darker or lighter, how should it be lit, and so forth. This shot is part of a series I took of a set of curtains listed in my etsy shop. I got carried away with the amazing way they both reflected and transmitted the light. My layouts tend to be very graphic and direct: this is softer and more, ahem, romantic.
