This is one of Patrick Smith's brilliant Mental Disorder series. You can probably see why this one resonates with me. There's a lively and (mostly) civil debate in the comments on his blog about the nature of some of these disorders, and whether the minimal approach oversimplifies complex issues. I personally feel that the images are sympathetic and witty, and have provided a great deal of value just by providing a starting point for that debate. And isn't that one of the purposes of (modern) art?
